Gay Liberation Allows Drag, Flyer 1980
Description
This flyer from Spring of 1980 announces the "newest" addition to the Gay Liberation movement, Gay Liberation Allows Drag (GLAD) which it states was founded by "trans person" Eve Adams. Adams apparently was slated to speak at the Gay Pride Rally in Central Park on June 29th of 1975. The flyer states "she will address the gay community and America about equality, unity and basic human rights for all gay people especially the most neglected: TRANSPEOPLE." This item may be viewed on microfilm through the New York Public Library Archives and Manuscripts division, International Gay Information Center collection.

Hi -- Based on our research, this flyer is from 1980, not 1975. In July 1980, John Hammond wrote an article--"A Very Successful March"--for The West Sider, in which he noted that "Eve Adams, head of the new organization Gay Liberation Allows Drag (GLAD), was the first speaker" at the Christopher Street Liberation Day 1980 rally. http://tinyurl.galegroup.com/tinyurl/6KkHU4
There are other citations to support, if necessary. Pride fell on June 29 in 1975 and 1980.

No one can forget these historical riots which were done by rebellion activists. I always read essayroo reviews about this incident in books of history and it is my wish to see the place of the incident. These types of incidents will never be forgotten.
